Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) has unveiled its fifth annual Field Tech Report for 2025, spotlighting the transformative impact of field technology on construction sites. The report emphasizes innovations such as drones, robotics, laser scanning, and advanced security systems that are revolutionizing field operations. These technologies enhance planning, monitoring, and execution, leading to improved safety and productivity. Matt Abeles, ABC’s vice president of construction technology and innovation, highlighted the pivotal role of these tools in advancing construction practices. Patrick Irwin, chair of ABC’s Construction Technology and Innovation Committee, noted that connected systems are crucial for maintaining competitiveness and ensuring safer projects amid workforce shortages and economic challenges. The report, enriched with insights from ABC’s Tech Alliance members and Dodge Construction Network, is accompanied by an executive summary from Milwaukee Tool.
