Samsung has officially announced the release of its popular mobile browser, Samsung Internet, for Windows PCs. This move comes 13 years after its initial debut on mobile platforms. A beta version will be available starting October 30, initially targeting users in Korea and the USA, with a broader release planned for a later date. The browser will be compatible with Windows 11 and Windows 10 version 1809 or later, including ARM-powered devices.
The PC version will not be exclusive to Samsung’s Galaxy Book laptops, mirroring the mobile version’s availability across all Android devices. Key features will include smart anti-tracking to block cookies and trackers, a Privacy Dashboard, and the integration of Galaxy AI for web page summarization and translation. Users will also enjoy seamless browsing between devices, with the ability to continue sessions from PC to phone and vice versa.
Samsung Internet for PC will support data synchronization with its Android counterpart, allowing users to sync bookmarks, browsing history, and login information. This suggests a potential expansion of Samsung Pass to all Windows users. Additional features, such as support for extensions, ad blockers, and various browsing modes, are anticipated upon the browser’s release.
