How is General Intuition revolutionizing AI with $133.7M in funding?

Medal, a platform renowned for sharing gaming clips, has launched General Intuition, an innovative AI research lab dedicated to spatial-temporal reasoning. This new venture, under the leadership of Pim de Witte, CEO of both Medal and General Intuition, aims to develop AI agents capable of understanding the movement of objects and entities through space and time. Utilizing a vast dataset from Medal, which includes over 2 billion videos annually from 10 million users, the company is training foundational models for dynamic real-world interactions.

With a substantial $133.7 million seed funding from investors such as Khosla Ventures, General Catalyst, and Raine, General Intuition is focusing on applications like advanced gaming agents and search-and-rescue drones that can operate in complex environments without GPS. Moritz Baier-Lentz of Lightspeed Ventures highlights the startup’s goal of creating adaptive agents that evolve with user behavior, moving beyond scripted actions.

By relying solely on visual input and controller-based movement, General Intuition is striving to advance towards artificial general intelligence (AGI) through enhanced perception, intuition, and spatial understanding, rather than depending solely on text-based learning.
