Is the iPhone Pocket Launched While iPhone Air 2 Faces Delays?

This week, Apple introduced the iPhone Pocket, a unique 3D-knitted accessory created in collaboration with Japanese fashion house ISSEY MIYAKE. Resembling an elongated iPod Sock, the iPhone Pocket is available in two designs: a short strap in eight colors priced at $149.95, and a long strap in three colors for $229.95. These limited-edition items can be handheld, attached to bags, or worn on the body, and are selling quickly both online and at select Apple Stores worldwide.

Meanwhile, Apple Fitness+ is undergoing a strategic review due to high churn rates and low revenue, positioning it as one of Apple’s weaker digital services. Sumbul Desai, Apple’s health vice president, is set to take over management of Fitness+, with the division now reporting directly to Eddy Cue, Apple’s services chief. This reorganization aims to revitalize the service.

In other developments, the launch of Apple’s iPhone Air 2 has been postponed due to disappointing sales of the current model, initially planned for release in fall 2026. The company has scaled back production, with a complete halt expected soon. Apple is now focusing on a more innovative iPhone Air 2, potentially launching in spring 2027 alongside the iPhone 18e and iPhone 18. The upcoming model may include features like an additional rear camera with an ultra-wide lens, improved cooling, reduced weight, a larger battery, and a new chip.
