How did hackers steal 1.8TB of data from Logitech without compromising sensitive information?

Logitech, a leading manufacturer of PC accessories, recently faced a cybersecurity breach resulting in the theft of 1.8 terabytes of data. The company attributes the breach to a zero-day vulnerability in third-party software, which allowed unauthorized access to its internal systems. Despite the significant data exfiltration, Logitech assures that no sensitive personal information, such as national ID numbers or credit card details, was compromised. The breach reportedly involved limited information about employees, consumers, and data related to customers and suppliers. The Clop extortion gang is suspected of being behind the attack, although Logitech has not officially named them. The company has since addressed the vulnerability to prevent further incidents.
