Is LG challenging Samsung with its new Micro RGB Evo TVs?

At CES 2026, the spotlight is on Micro RGB TVs, with LG stepping up to challenge Samsung’s pioneering efforts from last year. LG introduces its Micro RGB Evo TVs, using the same micrometer-sized RGB LEDs as Samsung, and boasts 100% BT.2020 color gamut coverage. However, LG aims to outshine its competitor with a higher refresh rate of 165Hz and the inclusion of Dolby Vision.

LG’s flagship model, the MRGB95B, features full-array local dimming with thousands of zones and is available in 75-inch, 86-inch, and 100-inch sizes. In contrast, Samsung offers a wider range from 55 to 130 inches. The MRGB9M model supports the Zero Connect Box, echoing Samsung’s Wireless One Connect Box introduced with The Frame Pro TV in 2025. LG’s entry-level MRGB85B, while more affordable, opts for edge-lit backlighting.

All models are powered by the Alpha11 AI Processor Gen 3, promising significant improvements in processing power and graphics. Running on WebOS, they come equipped with AirPlay 2 and Chromecast. LG also enhances user experience with AI-driven features like the AI Concierge, AI Chatbot, and AI Search, aiming to deliver an advanced audio-visual experience.
