Is the AGV SportModular Helmet Worth the Investment?

The AGV SportModular helmet stands out as a versatile choice for sports enthusiasts, offering the dual functionality of a full and open-faced helmet. Crafted entirely from carbon, including the chin bar, this helmet is remarkably lightweight, weighing only 1295 grams. Its sharp aesthetic, especially in the Carbon/Dark Grey variant paired with a gold visor, adds to its appeal, though the visor comes at an additional cost.

Available in three shell sizes and featuring a 5-density EPS system, the helmet provides excellent ventilation through adjustable front vents, a chin vent, and rear extractors. The interior is designed for comfort, with high-quality, removable, and washable padding. While there is a cutout for communication system speakers, the absence of a wiring channel complicates installation.

The helmet fits snugly, but those with rounder heads or larger noses might find it less accommodating. The integrated sunshield is user-friendly and effective, and the visor offers clear visibility with reduced noise levels due to its secure seal. Fastening is ensured by a titanium double D-Ring system, and the flip-up mechanism is glove-friendly and reliable.

The AGV SportModular is ECE 2205 approved, available in sizes XS to XXL, and priced from $999. Despite its higher cost, the helmet is well-built, comfortable, and stylish. Key advantages include its lightweight design and ample ventilation, while drawbacks include the lack of a comms wiring channel and potential fit issues for some head shapes.
