What’s Happening with the New Apple TV?

Apple has not refreshed its Apple TV 4K since 2022, and expectations were set for a new model in 2025. However, recent developments suggest that the anticipated update might be delayed. Despite widespread speculation that Apple would unveil the new Apple TV by the end of 2025, no announcements were made during the company’s recent product launches in September and October.

It is speculated that Apple may postpone home-related product announcements until spring 2026, coinciding with the release of a smarter version of Siri in iOS 26.4. This timing aligns with rumors of a new home hub device launch, potentially alongside the updated Apple TV and HomePod mini in late March or April.

The upcoming Apple TV is not expected to undergo a major design change but will feature significant updates. It will likely incorporate a new A-series chip, specifically the A17 Pro, which was first introduced in the iPhone 15 Pro models. This chip promises enhanced gaming capabilities and support for console-quality games. Additionally, the device is rumored to include Apple’s N1 networking chip, enabling Wi-Fi 7 support for faster and more reliable connectivity.

The next-generation Apple TV will also benefit from improved Siri capabilities, leveraging Apple Intelligence to offer better recommendations and expanded voice command functionalities.

There is speculation that Apple might adjust the pricing strategy for the new Apple TV, with possibilities of a more affordable entry-level model. Current pricing starts at $129, but Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests a potential target price of around $100.

Recent reports indicate dwindling supplies of Apple TV and HomePod mini at retail stores, hinting at an imminent launch. The new devices are expected to showcase Apple’s latest Siri and Apple Intelligence features, making a spring release increasingly plausible.
