How Much Did Indian Startups Raise This Week?

This week, the Indian startup ecosystem saw a significant resurgence in funding activity, with a total of $347.7 million raised between December 15 and December 19. This marks a 173% increase from the previous week’s $127.2 million. Ecommerce led the funding surge, securing $48.3 million, a fivefold increase from last week’s $7.7 million, and accounted for the highest number of deals with 11 transactions. Despite fintech’s usual dominance, it only recorded one deal worth $13 million. Investors such as Rainmatter, Fireside Ventures, Titan Capital, and 360 One Asset were notably active. In IPO news, Travelstack Tech and Shiprocket filed their draft red herring prospectuses with SEBI, while Turtlemint received approval for its public issue. In mergers and acquisitions, Freshworks plans to acquire FireHydrant, and Flipkart is set to acquire a majority stake in Minivet AI. Meanwhile, Speciale Invest is launching a growth-stage fund targeting deeptech startups, and other funds are focusing on AI-driven SaaS and women-led startups.
