A new series of workshops focusing on artificial intelligence is being launched to meet the practical needs of businesses in Central Alberta. Feedback from a survey of 700 regional businesses revealed a demand for hands-on AI training, not just theoretical discussions. The workshops aim to provide practical guidance for integrating AI into everyday business operations.
The first session, titled “AI for Small Business: What It Is, What It Isn’t, and How to Use It Today,” is a half-day online workshop. It will cover real-world applications of AI in communication, research, workflow efficiency, and decision-making, offering participants a clear understanding of AI’s capabilities and limitations in a business setting. Attendees will gain practical tools, approaches, and the confidence to evaluate and use AI tools responsibly.
This workshop is the initial offering in a five-part learning pathway designed by experts at Red Deer Polytechnic. The initiative underscores a regional commitment to fostering business innovation and competitiveness by aligning applied expertise with real business needs. The program is delivered entirely online, allowing businesses across Central Alberta to participate. Registrations are open for upcoming sessions in May and June, giving businesses flexibility in scheduling.
