Samsung has launched the first public beta of One UI 9.0 for the Galaxy S26 series, introducing several enhancements and design updates. The update improves stock apps like Samsung Notes, adds more customization to the Quick Panel, enhances the Game Booster, and offers new accessibility options.
The Quick Panel, which was already quite customizable in One UI 8.5, becomes even more adaptable in One UI 9.0. Users can now adjust the sizes of the display brightness slider, media player widget, and volume slider. Additionally, the Display Mode and Sound Mode toggles can be separated from the brightness and volume sliders, respectively.
The Game Booster panel, redesigned in One UI 8.5, now includes shortcuts to settings directly on the same screen, allowing users to change options like screenshot resolution and the in-game panel’s placement without leaving their game.
A redesign of the precise location permission pop-up now presents two options: Approximate and Precise, with a blue check mark indicating the selected choice for each app.
Samsung Notes introduces a feature called Tape, which lets users cover parts of a note with decorative tape, revealing the hidden content when needed. The app also expands its pen styles, providing more options for drawing and writing.
