One UI 9.0, built on Android 17, is set to enhance cross-device productivity for Galaxy users with the introduction of the ‘Continue On’ feature. This new feature, highlighted at the recent Google I/O developer conference, allows users to seamlessly continue app activities from one device to another. For instance, browsing a webpage on a Galaxy phone will prompt a Chrome icon on a Galaxy Tab’s taskbar, enabling users to open the same page instantly. Similarly, editing a document in Google Docs on a phone will show an app icon allowing the document to be accessed on another device. Both devices must be logged into the same Google account and connected to the internet. Initially, this feature will be available on Android phones and tablets, with potential future expansion to ChromeOS laptops. Previously, Galaxy devices offered a similar feature limited to Samsung apps, supporting file transfer and Wi-Fi sync across devices.
