Is Apple’s Foldable iPhone Facing Production Challenges?

Apple’s inaugural foldable iPhone is encountering significant production issues during the pre-assembly phase, specifically related to surface-mount technology. These complications have resulted in difficulties in scaling up production yields, although they are not linked to previously reported hinge reliability concerns. Despite these setbacks, a fall 2026 launch remains likely. Earlier reports indicated that production was behind schedule, yet the device is still expected to debut in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models. The foldable iPhone is anticipated to feature a 7.8-inch inner display, a 5.5-inch cover display, the A20 chip, a Touch ID power button, and dual rear cameras, with an estimated price of $2,000.
