Samsung has rolled out the One UI 8.5 update for its Galaxy M17 and M17e smartphones. Initially launched with One UI 7, the Galaxy M17, along with the Galaxy M17e which came with One UI 8, are receiving enhancements in UI design, improved stock apps, and additional customization options.
The update is available in India, with the Galaxy M17e receiving firmware version M076BXXU2BZE3 and the Galaxy M17 getting version M176BXXU5CZE9. The download size for both devices is approximately 3GB, and it includes the May 2026 security patch.
Users in India can access the update by going to Settings > Software update and selecting Download and install. Once downloaded, the installation can be initiated by tapping Install now.
One UI 8.5 introduces a refreshed design with more three-dimensional app icons, a compact tab bar in stock apps, and smoother animations. The Quick Panel offers enhanced customization, and the lock screen provides more options for clock widget fonts and customization.
The Weather app now includes a pollen index and an improved widget. Both the Galaxy M17 and M17e gain features like Direct Voicemail and the ability to add a Smart View shortcut for any device. Additionally, the Clock app now features a built-in time zone converter and weather effects for alarm backgrounds.
