Is the DMA causing delays for Siri AI in the EU?

Siri AI is designed with privacy at its core, seamlessly integrated across Apple’s platforms through on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute, enhancing the privacy and security of iPhone users even in the cloud. However, according to Apple, the stringent interpretation of the Digital Markets Act (DMA) by EU regulators would require them to allow any virtual assistant immediate access to users’ private data and the capability to control other installed applications as soon as Siri AI launches in the EU. This, Apple argues, would occur without the necessary protections to ensure the safety of users and their data.
