Can Android 17 transfer even more data from iPhones to Android phones?

This week, Google unveiled the stable version of Android 17 for Pixel devices, introducing not only design enhancements and new features but also significant improvements to Android Switch. This tool, designed to facilitate the transfer of personal data from iPhones to Android devices, now supports a wider range of data types. In addition to photos and videos, users can now transfer Google accounts, calendar attachments, call history, iMessage history with media and stickers, encrypted RCS messages, and home screen layouts. Other newly supported data includes files, folders, alarms, Apple Notes attachments, eSIMs, Wi-Fi credentials, passwords, in-app data, and certain accessibility settings. However, some of these features are not yet compatible with Galaxy devices running One UI 8.5, which is based on Android 16. Samsung is expected to integrate these updates into their Smart Switch app with the future release of One UI 9.0, making the transition from an iPhone to a Galaxy phone smoother.
