Anthropic has announced the expansion of Claude Cowork to mobile devices and the web, initially offering beta access to Max users. Claude Cowork is designed to autonomously complete tasks by accessing local files and connected tools. Users can now initiate and monitor Claude Cowork tasks across web, desktop, and mobile apps, with Claude operating in the cloud and sending alerts when user permission is required to proceed. While the desktop version remains optimal for full functionality, including access to local files and a browser, the web version offers an alternative for those unable to install the desktop app. Additionally, Claude chat and Cowork have been integrated into a single view on both web and desktop platforms. To coincide with the mobile expansion, Anthropic is offering doubled Cowork usage limits until August 5.
