Is embodied general AI on display in Shanghai with 200+ products?

On July 19, 2026, the Shanghai World AI Conference spotlighted a broad array of general embodied AI products from more than 200 vendors during a series of public demonstrations. General embodied AI — versatile intelligence systems that enable robots to perform a variety of tasks and adapt to different application scenarios — dominated the booths and exhibits across the show floor.

Demonstrations focused on versatility
On the exhibition floor, multiple robots ran through sequences of real-world tasks to showcase that versatility: retrieving a mock medication package from a shelf, taking an object handed to them by staff, serving drinks to visitors, and picking a bottle off a shelf. Other demos emphasized fine manipulation and precision work, including opening a washing-machine drum to load laundry and performing parcel-sorting operations, underscoring the platforms’ ability to handle diverse manipulations across varied environments.

A highly competitive pool of exhibitors
The conference proved to be a highly competitive arena, bringing together more than 200 suppliers of general embodied AI solutions. Booths proliferated with application scenarios designed to capture visitor attention and demonstrate how the same underlying AI architectures can be reconfigured for industrial and commercial use cases.
