In iOS 27, Apple’s Wallet app lets you create custom passes for event tickets, gift cards, loyalty cards and other physical cards by scanning them or building them manually. The Wallet app can use Visual Intelligence to scan a physical pass, match it to a template, and let you tweak fields and appearance before adding it to your Wallet.
You can either scan a physical card to generate a pass or create one from scratch using a template. Templates include options such as “Membership,” “Event,” or “Custom,” and they contain relevant fields like name, location or admission type. There are 12 background colors to choose from and seven custom backgrounds for categories such as theater, music, sports and movies. Fields can be added or removed with options including label, date, membership, contact, coupon code, VIN, insurance and more.
How to create a custom pass with Visual Intelligence
Open the Wallet app on your iPhone and tap the + button at the top. Choose Create a Pass. To let Visual Intelligence scan the physical pass, tap Continue, then take a photo of the pass on the next screen. After Visual Intelligence matches the pass to a template, tap Edit Pass to review and adjust the information.
Use the palette icon in the bottom-left corner to change the look of the pass — pick a background color or use an image from your Photos library. Tap the icon in the bottom-right corner to add or remove fields. When you are finished, tap the blue checkmark at the top to add the custom pass to your Wallet.
Manually create and edit a custom pass
If you prefer to create a pass manually, choose a template (“Membership,” “Event,” or “Custom”) and adjust the color and other details before scanning the barcode or QR code from your physical pass. Each template already includes relevant fields that you can modify to match the physical card. Your custom pass will be added to Wallet and ready for use.
To edit a pass later, select it in Wallet, tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the screen, then tap Edit Pass.
