Galaxy S27 Ultra battery certified in India ahead of launch

The Galaxy S27 Ultra battery has received certification from India’s Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), adding another regulatory approval for Samsung’s upcoming flagship. The BIS listing does not disclose the battery’s capacity or other specifications.

Galaxy S27 Ultra battery: capacity clues and model

The battery appearing on the BIS is listed as a Samsung SDI unit with the model number EB-BS958DBY. The same battery previously surfaced on China’s 3C certification platform with a rated capacity of 5,534mAh, which should translate to a typical capacity of around 5,700mAh. For comparison, the Galaxy S26 Ultra uses a 5,000mAh typical capacity battery.

Charging, Pro model and lineup context

The Galaxy S27 Ultra has also received 3C certification for 60W wired charging. The BIS listing follows an earlier India certification for the Galaxy S27 Pro battery, which was linked to a rated capacity of 5,087mAh. The Galaxy S27 series is expected to include four models—Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra—and all four have appeared in various regulatory databases, though Samsung has not officially confirmed the lineup. The company is expected to unveil the Galaxy S27 series early next year.
