Genie Health raises US$3M seed to scale health intelligence

Genie Health has raised US$3 million in seed funding to accelerate adoption of its personal health app and clinic intelligence solution, the Singapore-based startup said. The round was led by the Nadathur Family Office, with participation from Liminal, a Founders’ Studio backed by Temasek, and two seasoned healthcare leaders. Anand Nadathur, Principal of the Nadathur Family Office, will join the company’s board of directors.

“This funding will enable us to scale both the Genie app and SmartCare faster, while deepening our platform capabilities to build out our vision of a two-sided health intelligence platform,” Hari V. Krishnan, co-founder and CEO of Genie Health, said.

Genie Health said the financing will deepen the platform’s AI capabilities, accelerate Genie SmartCare’s adoption among clinics, and grow the team’s product, engineering and healthcare expertise in Singapore.

How Genie Health’s platform works

Genie Health is building a two-sided health intelligence platform that aims to help individuals understand their health and what to do next, while helping healthcare providers strengthen patient engagement and deliver more personalised care.

The platform spans two products. Genie is a personal health app that turns each member’s health information into personalised insights and guidance. The app brings fragmented health information together in a secure Health Locker, surfaces personalised insights and patterns to help members understand their health better, and guides them on next steps. Members retain control of their health data at all times.

“Members tell us they have more health information than ever, but still struggle to understand what it means for them and what to do next,” Hari said. “Every person’s health journey is different. General advice from friends and social media can only go so far. Genie brings your health information together to create a personalised health companion that understands your unique physiology, helps you make informed choices and guides you towards becoming the healthiest version of yourself.”

Genie SmartCare is a clinic intelligence platform that leverages agentic AI to engage patients around the clock and handle appointment and follow-up bookings. It combines longitudinal health records and wearable data so care teams get a richer understanding of every patient, while providers retain complete oversight.

“Healthcare teams want more time to understand their patients and support them prior to and beyond the consultation, but routine administrative demands can get in the way,” Maya Hari, co-founder and chair of Genie Health, said. “SmartCare combines automated patient engagement with a fuller picture of each patient’s health journey, helping providers make every interaction more informed and personal.”

Founders, investors and market context

The company was co-founded by Hari V. Krishnan, Maya Hari and Sandeep Suvarna, who collectively bring experience building and scaling consumer and enterprise technology businesses globally. Krishnan previously served as CEO and managing director of PropertyGuru Group, where he led its NYSE listing and subsequent US$1.1 billion (RM4.49 billion) sale to EQT. Before that, he headed LinkedIn’s Asia-Pacific business. Maya Hari is the former CEO of Terrascope and previously led Twitter’s business in the region, while Sandeep Suvarna headed international marketing at Twitch and Asia-Pacific marketing at LinkedIn.

“We back founders who are capable, committed, and aligned with our values for the long term. The Genie Health team brings all of that, along with deep experience building consumer platforms across Asia. They’re applying it to a space where technology can genuinely improve how people engage with their own health. We’re excited to partner with them on this journey,” Anand Nadathur, principal of the Nadathur Family Office, said.

“Genie Health’s founding team brings a strong track record of building and growing technology businesses. We see a compelling opportunity for AI to help individuals and healthcare providers make better use of fragmented health information, and believe Genie Health is well positioned to address that need,” Philip Chan, senior uilder at Liminal, said.

One in three Singapore residents deals with at least one chronic condition, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or glucose management issues. As Singapore ages, rising chronic disease prevalence is increasing the need for preventive care, and residents are spending more on preventive healthcare and wellness than ever before.

By consolidating health records, wearables and app data into personalised insights for members and richer longitudinal views for clinics, Genie Health positions its two-sided platform as a tool to address fragmented health information and growing demands on primary-care teams.
