Who is Kathryn Zhao, Cantor Fitzgerald’s Global Head of Electronic Trading?

Kathryn Zhao has been at the helm of Cantor Fitzgerald’s electronic trading since she joined the firm in September 2017. As the Global Head of Electronic Trading, Zhao has been instrumental in developing and implementing the Precision Algo Platform across the company’s equities algorithmic trading suite. Her role has since expanded to include oversight of other asset classes like foreign exchange and fixed income.

Before her tenure at Cantor Fitzgerald, Zhao held significant positions at JPMorgan, initially leading Linear Quantitative Research in Asia before moving to New York as the Global Head of Algorithmic Quantitative Research. Her leadership extended across various trading sectors, including Delta-One, ETF Market Making, and more. Zhao’s career also includes a rapid ascent at Deutsche Bank in Hong Kong, where she led the APAC Electronic Trading team.

Zhao’s academic credentials include an MBA from Cornell, a Master’s in Science from Purdue, and a Bachelor’s from Smith College. She is slated to be a key participant in the Cornell Financial Engineering Manhattan 2025 Future of Finance & AI Conference.
