EDCAPIT, an online education platform based in New York and founded by Ukrainian immigrant Oleh Podobed, has completed a $120,000 pre-seed funding round and is now launching an $800,000 seed round to drive its expansion across North America, Europe, and Latin America. The platform aims to democratize education access for immigrants and global learners by offering online courses in native languages, initially focusing on Russian and Ukrainian, with plans to include English, Spanish, and other languages soon.
Since its launch in late 2024, EDCAPIT has become a global marketplace for online courses, connecting educators with students seeking practical, career-focused knowledge. In just six months, over 40 instructors have joined, offering courses in fields such as IT, marketing, finance, and entrepreneurship. The platform’s content is tailored to the unique challenges faced by immigrants, helping them reskill, change careers, or start businesses in their new countries.
EDCAPIT provides a modern mobile app, seamless payment integrations, and free course publishing for instructors, earning revenue through commissions on course sales. The platform uses AI to personalize learning paths and allows instructors worldwide to monetize their expertise, while learners acquire practical skills relevant to their communities.
As part of its growth strategy, EDCAPIT plans to launch English and Spanish versions, host in-person educational events in the U.S., and expand into European and Latin American markets. The long-term vision is to unite over 10,000 creators and offer more than 20,000 courses to a global audience.
