The Galaxy S25 FE, set to be the fifth addition to Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series, will be officially unveiled on September 4 during the company’s online Galaxy Unpacked event. This model, like other FE versions, seeks to offer high-end features from the main Galaxy S25 phones at a more budget-friendly price. This year, four standout upgrades make the S25 FE particularly appealing.
Firstly, it will come with One UI 8 (Android 16) right out of the box, setting it apart from the rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup, which launched with One UI 7 (Android 14). This gives the S25 FE an edge, as it will receive an extra major OS update compared to its counterparts. This marks the second instance in the Galaxy S series where an FE model debuts with newer software than the main models, the first being the Galaxy S21 FE in 2022.
Another notable improvement is the larger battery. Samsung has been increasing battery capacities in recent years, and the S25 FE benefits from this trend, promising better battery life than any previous FE model. Additionally, the selfie camera sees an upgrade from 10MP to 12MP, aligning it with the main Galaxy S24 and S25 phones, which should result in significantly improved selfies.
Moreover, the S25 FE will support 45W super fast charging, a feature shared with the S25+ and S25 Ultra. This means faster charging times compared to models limited to 25W, though it’s important to note that a 45W charger will need to be purchased separately, as it won’t be included in the box. Overall, the S25 FE aims to combine long battery life with faster charging capabilities, offering a compelling package for consumers.
