The Samsung Galaxy A36 is set to undergo a significant transformation with its first major software update. The stable One UI 8, based on Android 16, is now being released, initially in South Korea. This update follows the recent deployment of One UI 8.0 to flagship models such as the Galaxy S24, S25, Z Fold 6, and Flip 6.
The budget-friendly Galaxy A36 is now receiving the One UI 8 update, marking its first major OS upgrade. Although the rollout began in South Korea, it is expected to reach users worldwide in the coming weeks, ahead of the previously anticipated October 2025 release. This update brings a refreshed user interface for key apps like Quick Share and Samsung Internet, along with new personalization options for the home and lock screens, including an adaptive clock style.
In addition to visual enhancements, the update improves privacy and security features. However, some advanced AI-powered features found in flagship models are absent, which is typical for mid-range devices. This update is the first of five major Android updates promised by Samsung for the Galaxy A36, ensuring long-term software support.
