Lunos AI, a fintech startup based in New York, has successfully raised $5 million in a pre-seed funding round. The company, which specializes in automating accounts receivable through AI agents, saw its funding round co-led by General Catalyst and Cherry Ventures. Additional backing came from angel investors, including executives from notable companies such as Eli Lilly, Trustly, Deliveroo, Typeform, and GoCardless.
General Catalyst, known for its global investment reach and focus on applied AI, and Cherry Ventures, a Berlin-based firm supporting European founders, have both thrown their weight behind Lunos AI. The funds will be used to grow the team and enhance the AI agents’ capabilities, with a focus on reconciliation, payment orchestration, and cash flow optimization. Lunos AI also plans to develop embedded AI agents for integration into various financial platforms.
Founded by Duncan Barrigan, Lunos AI aims to streamline the accounts receivable process by utilizing AI-driven communication analysis and smart payment structuring. The company’s AI solutions automate invoice-related communications and negotiations, interfacing with tools like Slack and email, and connecting to financial systems such as QuickBooks and NetSuite.
