Has Samsung revealed the brightest OLED TV technology yet?

Just days before the start of CES 2026, Samsung has introduced its latest QD-OLED panel for televisions, promising enhanced brightness and picture quality over last year’s model. This innovative panel, expected to feature in some of Samsung’s upcoming OLED TVs, will be displayed at the CES 2026 event in Las Vegas from January 6. It boasts an impressive peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits, setting a new standard for self-emissive displays with more vivid colors and superior perceptual brightness compared to rival OLED panels. Achieving such brightness involves maximizing the brightness of each red, green, and blue (RGB) pixel component, resulting in purer colors. Unlike LG Display’s OLED panels, which incorporate a white sub-pixel that can dilute color purity, Samsung’s QD-OLED technology maintains color integrity. Additionally, the panel supports AI-driven picture quality optimization, likely to be a feature in Samsung’s forthcoming high-end television models.
