The recent Quantum AI and NLP 2025 Conference, hosted by the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering, highlighted the intersection of education and industry in the evolving field of Quantum AI. Held at the IU Memorial Union and Whittenberger Auditorium, the three-day event attracted international corporate leaders, renowned researchers, and participants from academia, industry, government, and defense sectors. The conference aimed to discuss the integration of academic education with industry needs and explore potential partnerships.
Damir Cavar, the conference director, emphasized the diversity of attendees, including representatives from the Midwest, the U.S., and countries like Germany, the UK, and India. Notable speakers from Microsoft, IBM, and NVIDIA contributed to high-level discussions on topics such as cybersecurity and policies. The event also featured poster presentations on Quantum and AI innovations and a unique Quantum Rock concert.
The conference provided a platform for networking, allowing students to connect with industry leaders and explore career opportunities. Efforts were made to involve various IU departments and regional businesses, aiming to foster collaborations and educational advancements in Quantum AI. Cavar expressed hopes for future partnerships, including with NVIDIA’s CUDA-Q software library, to further enhance research and development in this cutting-edge field.
