Is Apple making it easier to use Galaxy Buds and Watches with iPhones?

Apple is working on making its devices more compatible with non-Apple accessories, such as Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watches. Currently in beta testing, the upcoming iOS 26.3 and iPadOS 26.3 updates are set to introduce new features aimed at simplifying the pairing process for third-party wireless earbuds and smartwatches with iPhones and iPads. These updates, expected to be released in early January 2026, will include Proximity Pairing, which allows devices like Galaxy Buds to connect to iPhones and iPads with a simple pop-up menu, similar to how AirPods connect. Additionally, Notifications Forwarding will enable iPhones to mirror notifications to third-party smartwatches, allowing users to view and respond to notifications on devices such as the Galaxy Watch. However, notifications can only be forwarded to one device at a time, meaning simultaneous viewing on an Apple Watch and a Galaxy Watch is not possible.
