Is the Galaxy S26 Ultra returning to its design roots with rounder corners?

Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra seems to be revisiting its design origins by adopting rounder corners, as revealed by a leaked screen protector image. This design shift marks a departure from the boxy corners seen in recent Galaxy S Ultra models following the discontinuation of the Galaxy Note series. The S25 Ultra had already started this transition earlier in the year by reintroducing rounded corners, and the S26 Ultra appears to embrace this trend even further. Unlike the curved edges of the Galaxy S21 Ultra from 2021, the new model is expected to feature a completely flat display, combining a flat screen for optimal S Pen usage with rounder corners for enhanced comfort. Samsung is anticipated to launch the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026, with leaks suggesting a return of the camera island design and a repositioned S Pen closer to the phone’s left edge. While some might perceive this as a loss of identity, the design actually harks back to the Ultra series’ roots from 2020 and 2021.
