Is the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s camera bump twice as thick as the S25 Ultra’s?

Samsung is reintroducing a prominent camera bump with the Galaxy S26 Ultra due to the need to incorporate upgraded camera hardware into a slimmer body. The S26 Ultra’s cameras are expected to protrude almost twice as much as those on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Sign-ups for the Galaxy S26 Ultra Mystery Box are now open, promising more guaranteed items and larger random prizes. Each box includes a free case, screen protector, cleaning kit, and phone stand. The S26 Ultra’s camera bump will measure 4.5mm, nearly doubling the 2.4mm rings of its predecessor, linked to new and enhanced camera sensors. The model is expected to feature larger apertures and an improved 3x zoom lens with a 12MP sensor. These upgrades are likely to enhance low-light performance and image quality, although users will have to contend with a bulkier camera module. The S26 Ultra will have a body thickness of 7.9mm, reduced from the current model’s 8.2mm, but the cameras will protrude further. The device will weigh 217 grams, 1 gram lighter than the S25 Ultra, and maintain a 5,000mAh battery with 60W charging. The design will shift from the sharp, boxy look of previous models to more rounded corners and edges. The Galaxy S26 series, including the S26 Pro and S26 Edge, will be officially launched in early 2026, with more leaks expected in the coming months.
