What can we expect from Samsung’s thinnest foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 7?

Samsung is gearing up to launch its next book-style foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which promises to be notably slimmer than its predecessor. The design, as hinted by a recent video, showcases a device with flat side rails and a boxier appearance, akin to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, but with a much more streamlined profile. The edges appear slightly contoured to enhance ergonomic use. Samsung has teased that these upcoming foldables will be the slimmest and lightest in the series, with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 expected to be between 3.9mm and 4.5mm thick when unfolded and weigh approximately 215g, making it around 24g lighter than the Z Fold 6. The official unveiling is anticipated at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, where Samsung might also introduce the Galaxy Z Flip 7, a potential Fan Edition flip-style foldable, and possibly a new Galaxy Z Fold “Ultra” model. There’s also speculation about a tri-fold smartphone debut, possibly named the Galaxy G Fold.
