Ericsson and Orange Morocco have entered into a strategic agreement to modernize and expand the operator’s core network infrastructure, a critical step towards the imminent deployment of standalone 5G in Morocco. This initiative is part of the national Morocco Digital 2030 program, which aims to promote an innovative digital architecture in electronic communications by enhancing sector interconnectivity and driving new use cases.
The two partners, who have been collaborating for over two decades, will introduce Ericsson’s dual-mode 5G and cloud-native infrastructure solution. This technology is designed to increase network capacity, improve performance, and deliver superior service quality to Orange Morocco’s customers. Ms. Majda Lahlou Kassi, Vice President of Ericsson, emphasized the shared commitment of both companies to provide connectivity that meets the needs of Moroccans, while enhancing user experience through Ericsson’s advanced technologies.
The agreement also includes the development of high-value digital services, such as fixed wireless access, interactive online gaming applications, and industrial connectivity requiring low latency. Both companies have praised the efforts of their teams, whose technical and human expertise is crucial to the success of this ambitious project, which will equip Morocco with a sustainable telecommunications infrastructure capable of meeting the growing needs of both individuals and businesses.
