What should you expect from the Samsung Galaxy S26?

As Samsung prepares to launch its new foldables in July, attention is shifting to the next Galaxy S flagship, the Galaxy S26 series, expected in early 2026. This time, Samsung might introduce four models, possibly including the Galaxy S26 Edge, which could replace the Plus model depending on market performance.

Speculation surrounds the Galaxy S26’s specifications, but new Snapdragon and Exynos chips are anticipated. The Snapdragon 8 Elite’s successor is likely to power the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Galaxy S25 Edge globally, while the S26 and S26+ might use the same Snapdragon chip in the US, Canada, and China, and an Exynos chip elsewhere. Standard features are expected to include 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage, with larger storage options available.

Samsung aims to continue its trend of slimmer designs, with rumors suggesting thinner profiles achieved through slimmer camera modules. The overall design will likely maintain the Galaxy brand’s identity, featuring aluminum or titanium frames and glass backs.

Battery technology might see advancements, potentially incorporating silicon carbon technology for increased capacity despite thinner designs. While a 6,000 mAh battery for the S26 Ultra has been rumored, skepticism remains due to the significant leap from current models.

Camera upgrades may be limited, with no major changes expected until possibly the Galaxy S28. The S26/S26+ will retain a 50MP primary sensor, and significant upgrades to ultrawide and zoom cameras seem unlikely.

The Galaxy S26 series will debut with Android 16 and One UI 8.5, potentially introducing new Galaxy AI features. Samsung is reportedly exploring an investment in Perplexity AI, which could be integrated into Bixby and the Samsung Internet browser.

Pricing for the Galaxy S26 series is expected to remain similar to the Galaxy S25 lineup, though precise details are yet to be confirmed.
