The upcoming iOS 26.1 update is set to introduce several new features and improvements for iPhones. Among these enhancements are options to customize the Liquid Glass appearance, a new “slide to stop” function for alarms in the Clock app, and more. Currently in beta testing, iOS 26.1 is expected to be released in early November and will be compatible with iPhone 11 series and newer models, though some features will be exclusive to the latest devices.
Key updates include a Liquid Glass toggle allowing users to select between a “Clear” or “Tinted” look, and a new setting to disable the Lock Screen’s swipe-to-open Camera feature. The Clock app now features a “slide to stop” control for alarms and timers, replacing the larger “stop” button that was prone to accidental taps.
Additionally, Apple Music introduces song swiping, and the Apple TV+ service is rebranded as Apple TV, complete with a refreshed app icon. Language support is expanded for Apple Intelligence and AirPods Live Translation, adding several new languages. Finally, a new Background Security Improvements option in the Privacy & Security settings ensures automatic installation of security patches between major updates.
