Will the iPhone 17 Pro’s camera features challenge Samsung and Sony?

The iPhone 17 Pro is rumored to introduce significant camera enhancements, including a new professional camera app for both photos and videos. This app aims to compete with existing professional apps like Halide, Kino, and Filmic Pro. Additionally, Apple might update its Final Cut Camera app instead of developing a new one. The iPhone 17 Pro may also feature an 8x optical zoom lens, surpassing the current 5x zoom on the iPhone 16 Pro, with a moving element for continuous optical zoom. This could appeal to users dissatisfied with Samsung’s recent reduction in zoom capabilities. Furthermore, a new camera control button on the top edge is expected, along with a design update featuring a horizontal camera bar and a copper-like color option. With these upgrades, Apple seems to be targeting both standalone camera users and those loyal to Samsung and Sony.
