Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, is set to host the AI Conf 2025 on October 25. This international conference on artificial intelligence is organized by the Artificial Intelligence Council under the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, in collaboration with zypl.ai and Area AI, and supported by the Tajik government. The event underscores Tajikistan’s rapid development as a burgeoning hub for AI, thanks to the support of President Emomali Rahmon. The country is forging partnerships with leading AI companies from around the world, including France, the USA, and the UAE, focusing on diverse areas such as large language models and AI solutions across various sectors.
The conference will gather government officials, global tech companies, research centers, startups, and venture investors to discuss AI strategies, showcase national initiatives, and forge international partnerships. Highlights include presentations of national AI projects like SoroLLM, a language model tailored for the Tajik language, and darya.ai, the region’s first AI cluster powered by renewable energy. Area AI will introduce the region’s first AI Free Zone, complete with an academy and research labs.
The agenda features keynote speeches and panels on AI applications in education, public administration, business, and sustainable development. Distinguished speakers include Tajikistan’s Prime Minister, Sarah Hooker of Adaption Labs, Sunil Gupta of Yotta Data Services, Karim Ayoubi from DeepMind, and Janneta Tabakov from Perplexity AI, among others.
A significant focus will be on integrating AI into school curricula, aiming to impact over 4,000 schools and 2 million students by 2028. The conference will also provide a platform for signing strategic agreements and unveiling new projects within Tajikistan’s AI ecosystem. An exhibition zone will showcase innovations from major foreign companies, startups, and research teams.
AI Conf 2025 highlights Tajikistan’s increasing influence in the global AI landscape, with initiatives in infrastructure development, talent cultivation, and sustainable technology.
