What’s New in iOS 26.1 Beta 4?

Apple continues to introduce new features with the release of the fourth beta of iOS 26.1, marking some of the most significant updates expected in the public release later this month. Key changes include a new Liquid Glass Transparency Toggle in the Display and Brightness settings, allowing users to choose between Clear or Tinted options for the interface. The Clear setting offers a more transparent look, while Tinted increases opacity and contrast.

Additionally, a new Lock Screen Camera Swipe option in the Camera settings allows users to disable the swipe-to-open camera feature from the Lock Screen, enhancing privacy. Previously, this feature could only be disabled by turning off the camera app entirely.

The Phone app now includes a toggle to disable haptic feedback when calls are connected or dropped. In terms of design, the Apple Intelligence section in the Settings app has been updated to a left-aligned format, aligning with changes made in previous betas. The “Beta” label has been removed from Apple Intelligence, though it’s unclear if this indicates a full release or an oversight, as the label remains in macOS Tahoe 26.1 beta 4.

Readers are encouraged to share any additional features not mentioned. For a comprehensive list of updates in previous iOS 26.1 betas, refer to the iOS 26.1 feature guide.
