VitVio, a Boston-based platform leveraging AI to digitize operating rooms in 3D, has successfully secured $8 million in a Seed funding round. The investment was spearheaded by Bek Ventures, with additional backing from LDV Capital, Tiny Supercomputer Investment Company, Balnord, Thornapple River Capital, Joe Mullings, and Mati Staniszewski of ElevenLabs. Bek Ventures, known for supporting early-stage tech startups with a focus on Central and Eastern Europe, led the charge in this round.
VitVio plans to utilize the newly acquired funds to enhance its operational capabilities, broaden its reach within major U.S. hospitals, and bolster its engineering and operations teams to meet increasing demand. The company, founded by Thomas Knox, Dr. Peter Rennert, Maks Kozarzewski, and Aleks Pajewski, aims to revolutionize operating room efficiency by using AI, computer vision, and ambient sensing to create a real-time 3D model of the OR environment. This technology autonomously coordinates staff, identifies delays, and alleviates administrative burdens on surgical teams. VitVio’s mission is to bring unprecedented efficiency and visibility to hospital operating rooms, with headquarters in Boston and additional offices in London and Wilmington.
