WorkHero, a company based in Boston, has secured a $5 million seed round to enhance its AI-driven back-office platform tailored for small HVAC contractors. This funding round was led by Navitas Capital, with contributions from Workshop Ventures, York IE, and notable angel investors, including a former executive from ServiceTitan. The platform aims to alleviate the administrative burdens faced by small HVAC business owners, who often spend over 20 hours per week on paperwork. Traditional software solutions are cumbersome, and hiring office staff is often costly for these small businesses, most of which have fewer than 20 employees.
WorkHero’s innovative platform autonomously manages various administrative tasks, such as invoicing, permit pulling, rebate filing, warranty registration, and pricebook creation, allowing business owners to focus on their core operations without needing to engage with complex software. The system is complemented by experienced account managers who provide guidance on financial and operational matters.
The platform also supports climate and electrification initiatives by streamlining the heat pump rebate submission process in states like Colorado, Oregon, and New York, significantly reducing processing times and improving approval rates.
With the new investment, WorkHero plans to expand its engineering and product teams and introduce additional services like call answering and bookkeeping to offer comprehensive office management solutions to small HVAC contractors.
