The Four Corners AI Conference is set to return to Durango this December, marking its second year of exploring the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing rural communities. The free, one-day event will be hosted at the Fort Lewis College Concert Hall on December 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and aims to unite community members, students, faculty, and regional leaders from business, education, and civic sectors for a day of AI-focused education and dialogue. Sponsored by Fort Lewis College, the Economic Development Alliance, and the Durango Chamber of Commerce, the conference will feature keynote speeches from Angelo Baca, a Diné/Hopi assistant professor at the Rhode Island School of Design, and Luke Norris, co-founder of Kamiwaza.ai. Additional sessions will include talks from local leaders such as Karen Cheser, José Madrigal, Mario Martinez, and Tom Miaskiewicz. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in breakout sessions offering hands-on learning experiences tailored to various levels of AI expertise.
