How does the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra compare to the MacBook Pro?

Samsung and Apple have long been competitors in the mobile device arena, but when it comes to laptops, Apple has traditionally held the upper hand, especially in the premium segment. With the introduction of the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra, Samsung seems to have taken inspiration from the MacBook Pro’s successful elements. This new model is Samsung’s closest attempt at replicating the MacBook experience.

The Galaxy Book 6 Ultra features several design elements reminiscent of Apple’s approach. It boasts a redesigned chassis with a centered touchpad for better ergonomics, a tenkeyless keyboard layout that enhances typing comfort, and Samsung’s first haptic touchpad, replacing traditional mechanical clicks. The audio system includes a six-speaker setup similar to that of the MacBook Pro, and the keyboard sports a two-tone design echoing Apple’s style. Overall, the fit and finish of the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra are more refined compared to previous models.

While these changes mark significant improvements, the key differences remain in the software and hardware. The Galaxy Book 6 Ultra operates on Windows with Intel and Nvidia components, contrasting with Apple’s reliance on its M-series chips. These fundamental distinctions continue to shape the user experience on each platform.

The Galaxy Book 6 Ultra is set to launch in select markets by the end of January. Whether these enhancements will allow Samsung to bridge the gap with Apple remains to be seen.
