Will EMEA Drive Consumer Tech Growth in 2026?

At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) projected global consumer technology sales for 2025 to reach $1.3 trillion. While consumer spending is expected to remain stable in 2026, the EMEA region is anticipated to lead growth, despite modest increases compared to a stagnant North American market and a decline in China. Small domestic appliances are highlighted as a key growth area, with consumers willing to invest in products offering convenience and versatility. However, China’s trade-in policies from 2025 pose challenges for 2026 comparisons. Ines Haaga from NIQ emphasized that Europe and the MEA region are seeing growth as consumers opt for premium, connected living solutions. Meanwhile, the U.S. market remains focused on technology that enhances productivity and quality of life. The CTA identified three megatrends shaping the future of consumer technology: intelligent transformation through AI, advancements in longevity technologies, and engineering tomorrow with investments in electrification and infrastructure modernization.
