What’s new at the Galaxy Unpacked event?

Samsung’s summer Unpacked event promises more excitement than usual, featuring new clamshell and book-style foldables. Speculation surrounds the potential introduction of a more budget-friendly Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE and a high-tech Galaxy Z Fold Ultra. On the smartwatch front, three new Galaxy Watch models are anticipated, marking a departure from the usual two.

The event is officially set for Wednesday, July 9, in Brooklyn, New York, and will be streamed live on Samsung’s platforms. A teaser video showcases two notably thin foldables, aligning with previous leaks suggesting a slimmer design compared to last year’s Fold 6. The tagline “Ultra Unfolds” hints at the rumored Galaxy Fold Ultra, although some insiders suggest it may simply refer to the ultra-thin Fold 7.

Ahead of the event, Samsung is encouraging pre-registrations for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, offering a $50 Samsung credit and triple reward points for preorders. Additionally, registrants are entered into a $5,000 sweepstakes. However, the $50 credit is restricted to accessory purchases, excluding the new foldable phones themselves.
