Can untapped global demand boost growth for robotic vacuum makers?

Despite facing fierce competition that has led a US company to bankruptcy, the global market for robotic vacuum cleaners still holds significant growth potential due to low penetration rates. According to Dreame Technology’s robotic vacuum division president, Meng Jia, sales are expected to grow steadily in the coming years, with penetration rates currently below 10% in China and under 20% internationally. Meng believes the robotic vacuum category is still in its early stages, with much room for improvement in user experience.

Europe represents the largest market for Dreame’s robotic vacuums, followed by China and the US. The strong European market is attributed to consumers’ openness to cutting-edge technology, with over half of Dreame’s revenue in the region coming from premium products priced above 1,000 euros. In China, the market is highly competitive, with products priced between 3,000 and 4,000 yuan making up about 50% of the company’s domestic revenue, contrasting with the premium-heavy European market.
