Samsung’s mid-range smartphones, particularly the Galaxy A series, have been pivotal in markets like Europe, India, and Southeast Asia due to their affordability. However, with intense competition from Chinese brands emphasizing high specifications, Samsung needs to enhance certain aspects to maintain its edge.
Firstly, uniform screen bezels are essential. Despite Samsung’s reputation for outstanding OLED displays, its mid-range phones often feature uneven bezels, with a thicker chin that detracts from a premium appearance. Recent models like the Galaxy F36 and M36 have even regressed in design with less modern notches.
Secondly, the performance of Exynos chips must improve, particularly in graphics. While the CPU performance is adequate, the GPU lags behind, affecting gaming and overall UI fluidity. A more robust GPU would ensure better performance over the six major Android OS updates Samsung now offers.
Thirdly, camera capabilities need enhancement. Although the cameras deliver good color and dynamic range, they fall short in video recording. Despite the capability for 4K 60fps recording, this feature is underutilized, which could be a significant draw for content creators and social media enthusiasts.
Lastly, battery life remains a critical factor. While the current 5,000mAh batteries are satisfactory, they don’t stand out. Competitors offer larger batteries with faster charging. Increasing battery capacity to 6,000mAh for Galaxy A and 7,000mAh for Galaxy F and M models, coupled with optimized Exynos chips, would significantly enhance user experience, providing longer usage times for both power and regular users.
