Is One UI 8.5’s Now Nudges inspired by Android’s latest feature?

One UI 8.5 introduces a range of new and enhanced features, among which is Now Nudges. This innovative feature automatically presents pertinent information within apps, eliminating the need for manual data referencing and app switching. It appears that Now Nudges might be leveraging Android’s newly introduced Contextual Suggestions technology.

Originally launched with the Pixel 10 series as Magic Cue, Google is now extending this technology to all Android devices under the name Contextual Suggestions. This development suggests that One UI 8.5’s Now Nudges could be utilizing similar technology.

The Contextual Suggestions feature in Google Play Services is designed to provide useful recommendations from your apps and services. For instance, your preferred music app might propose workout playlists at the gym based on your usual evening listening habits, while a video streaming app could suggest broadcasting a sports match to your living room TV over the weekend.

This feature operates within an encrypted environment on your phone, ensuring that relevant data remains on the device and is not transmitted to Google’s servers. Users have the option to delete this data at any time, or it is automatically erased after 60 days. Device activity and location data are securely stored, allowing AI to analyze and determine what information could be beneficial to the user.
