Samsung appears to be gearing up to produce CMOS image sensors for Apple’s iPhone models. The company has announced job openings for mechanical and electrical project managers at its Austin, Texas chip-making plant. These roles are crucial for managing the input from designers, suppliers, and equipment engineers, particularly concerning the installation of gas and water piping. Additionally, Samsung has informed the Austin City Council of a $19 billion investment in the facility, aimed at maintaining and installing advanced equipment. These developments indicate Samsung’s readiness to commence the manufacturing of camera sensors for iPhones.
