Did a security update improve Galaxy S24 and Fold 5 battery life?

The June 2025 security update, released earlier this month, has reached Galaxy S24 users internationally two weeks ago and in the US last week. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 also received this update last week. While security updates typically focus on addressing vulnerabilities and bugs, some users of the Galaxy S24 and Z Fold 5 have reported improved battery life following this update. However, this improvement is not universally observed among all users. A survey showed that 37.5% of participants noticed a significant improvement, while 50% did not see any change. The release of One UI 7, based on Android 15, had previously caused battery life issues for some devices, but it appears Samsung may have addressed these concerns with the latest update. It’s worth noting that after major updates, devices may initially experience increased battery drain as the system re-indexes and optimizes, with performance stabilizing within a few days.
