Samsung phones currently alert users when apps access the camera or microphone by displaying icons on the screen. Similarly, a location icon appears when apps track the user’s location, but tapping it doesn’t reveal which apps are responsible. This may change with future updates to Samsung’s One UI. Google’s recent beta release of Android 16 QPR3 for Pixel devices introduces a feature that identifies apps tracking location. When an app accesses location data, a blue pill icon appears, and tapping it reveals the apps involved. This enhancement could potentially be integrated into Samsung devices in the future.
